we leave for our 'post-nuptial' holiday on friday.

we bring with us no computers, mobile phones or PDAs. 

we're living on the coast of liguria for a week - with day trips to the french riviera and monaco maybe. then we drive through the scenic motorways - off to milan, cinque terre, florence and rome. an added note to measure my excitement: we happen to be in milan at the beginning of their fashion week(s). oh! the people watching! i cannot contain myself.

i'll be back in the middle of september - after all the shows - how exciting!

maybe.

there may be a reason that i've got the autumnal hum. that thing, that excited feeling that i get when i cannot wait until the weather subtly changes itself from damp, musty and warm, to crisp, bright and cool.

i love fall. it may also have something to do with the fact that i might have purchased this l.a.m.b. hooded jacket and just really want to wear it. i'm just saying that could be it, it's not a definite.

bells.

i think i may need to invest in some opera length gloves for the cooler seasons ahead. these bell shaped coats with three-quarter length sleeves are shouting my name and calling, calling, calling me to them. it's like coming home. or, at the very least, trying to get there in the most stylish of ways. this tibi bell sleeve coat is a most perfect, and not extraordinarily spendy version of the style... and i'm trying ever so hard not to buy it.... at this very moment.

 

and i figure, since i already own the tibi dress shown in the styled outfit above, it may just make perfect sense for me to do so... no?

my better half says it so much more eloquently than i ever could... have a brief sojourn at fikshun.

honest.

so - we're no longer living in sin.

in all honesty though - the wedding was an out & out success. the earlier part of the day was spent trying not to freak out and mess up my face, but we made it through and everything went as planned and it was a spectacular night. the little things that didn't, didn't even make a blip on the radar. everyone looked gorgeous, the carlu was more beautiful than i had hoped and the crowd had a good time. no complaints.

saying all that, i'm glad it's over! i'm exhausted! planning a wedding is a funny and sometimes overwhelming affair. once is definitely enough for me. (although we kind of got married twice.)

i'll be back on track soon with posts, until of course, we leave for our post-matrimonial trip to italy on the 30th. i may even be in milan for fashion week...

it's just that, well, the time has come and it's one week until the wedding.

a little boyish, a little girlish - but never twee. the best mix of scrubbed clean girly and modern edge chic.

i would happily own every single item from their current season. that does not happen very often. i'm blown away...

i've been meaning to write this up for ages now, because it's just so ingenious! rimmel* has introduced 'light beam' from their 'underground collection. a totally fabulous lipgloss for the oh-so glamorous social butterfly. the gloss itself goes on sheer and light, no gummy or tacky mess - your hair is safe from being stuck to your pout.

but, the real kicker? the packaging is just divine: it carries with it a little mirror, perfect for checking out your makeup, but even better than that is the fact that on top of the lid hides a little button that turns on a light that highlights your application perfectly. so you're safe from any lipgloss mishaps in dark corners of clubs, bars or anywhere else you may need a light.

this article got me curious about your fashion reading habits. i've never picked up an issue of ELLE US, although the UK version is quite enjoyable from time to time. so... what are your must-reads?
