tomoko.

i'm keeping this fairly short, because for me, there really isn't much to say. cameos are classic, hand-carved agate on a brass link chain give this delightful bracelet heft and substance, without adding a chunky feel.

this tomoko igarashi bracelet is, for me, truly beautiful.

sigh.

saying that i am completely enamored with this dress would most probably confuse those who know me well. the bright and far-from subtle print would never have been something that i would have been attracted to. the kimono-style, with defining waist - would have me running to the woods - and although these things still ring with unfortunate truth, my insecurities shouldn't stop you from loving and rocking this kaj ani high collar dress, found here at adele.

it really is quite pretty, isn't it?

parma.

there are those that would probably turn their nose up at this, thinking that this sort of attire infantilizes women in some sort of bizarre way, but i assure you - this look can and is very clever and chic. one must just take care not to wear this corduroy overall dress with ankle socks and mary-janes.

with a line like a.p.c., you can trust that they know what they are doing... the french wouldn't have celebrated the line for so long any other way...

rendered.

speechless.

this may be one of the most amusing photos i've ever seen. why it makes me giggle, is surely obvious - but just thinking of a caption for this could result in a novella being written about it instead. but, please - should you have something witty to share, i'd love to hear it...

kiki.

whatever your thoughts on her acting abilities, at least the replacement for ms. lohan, strikes a much better pose and looks to be able to carry these garments off, say opposed to the former, who looked as if she should be somewhere in middle america, working at the foot locker...

kiki is a vast improvement - the clothes (and bags) looks gorgeous and the photographs by mert & marcus are incredible, but i think that goes without saying now...

a couple more to whet that appetite for lazy days and warm breezes:

the best named dress, like, ever: the excalibur from parisian favourites, heimstone -

and another, the 'coco' - a most sweet navy blue silk frock from gat rimon-

mayle.

a little premature, of course, but the moment the new year has whispered past its countdown, the chilly weather somehow turns itself on its ear and retailers start pushing us toward balmy spring. and i cannot help but bite at some of the lovely 'resort' collections that have become ever-so present as of late. mayle (of new york boutique fame) has struck a very formidable cord with me. easy to wear shapes, modern cuts and prints that don't make you feel ashamed of your shape and their sensibility brings with it a certain loose refinement that i quite enjoy. and with dresses such as the 'vanya' in a gorgeous shade of royal blue doesn't tempt you, i'm not quite sure i know what will...

lippy.

tacky, gummy and thick.

three things that make lip-gloss an annoyance as opposed to an easy way to brighten a face. it's hard to find one that isn't one or all of these things, and do believe me when i say, i have tried. the amount of product that i threw away upon my move attests to my penchant for being a cosmetic guinea pig.

but, upon a visit to my local kiehl's for something that wasn't lip-gloss, i was delightfully surprised to find that their natural extracts lippy is sheer, hydrates the lips and is packed with anti-oxidants. not to mention that it smells positively heavenly. i am a tried and true fan.

(berry 1851 is my favourite shade).

quicklike.

(i hasten to add that these marni criss-crossed and patent platforms are hyper-sexy. and if you cannot tell by the warm, hazy glow of your screen, i want them. i'm unclear as to how i will obtain them, but i'll come up with something...)

rusty.

having very little in the way of the internet at home for the last three-ish weeks, has made getting back into the swing of things a bit more complicated that i had hoped.

so, very much on the sly at the office, i thought i'd point out that marni is getting me right where it hurts. these brooches, (yes, again with the brooches), found at net-a-porter are the most perfect accessories to make any ordinary ensemble the most stylish and fun. my shallow pockets don't allow them at the moment, but should yours be a bit deeper... i'll look ever so fondly on them.
