is it so odd to feel passionately about something as simple as a liquid hand soap?
because, no longer am i fretting over the fact that i wash my hands a worrying amount on a daily basis, but rather, i've begun to look forward to it because these liquid soaps from la compagnie de provence have me smelling like the most delightful fig you've ever come across. (and yes, it is delightful to smell like a fig.)
these hand soaps, creams and lotions have been traditionally made since 1688, in marseille in provence and no other anti-bacterial soap is this luxurious or comes in better designed packaging. trust me, you'll want to dirty up your hands just to wash them over and over again...
if you're going to be in toronto on the weekend of may 2nd, and you'd like a chance to win tickets to the renowned clothing show held at the better living centre - exhibition place - i've got 5 pairs of tickets to give away to the first five of you to tell me two "cartoon" character tattoos that marc jacobs has recently inked himself with.

good luck!
i've worn the same scent for years now. i suppose if i have any sort of signature, it would be the perfume that i wear and the bangles i've forever worn on my wrists... no matter where i go, i receive compliments and questions of 'what are you wearing?' or 'you smell delicious'... it always bewilders and delights me, because i can hardly smell it on myself at all at this point, but i do know that i love it.
oh, i suppose i should tell you what it is. it's a little thing called 'scent' by costume national. and don't let the description fool you - i am hardly one to call florals a scent i gravitate to, but this little bottle of perfumed ambrosia waivers just a little bit close to the edge of rough and tumble gorgeousness. just yum.
so, when i found out that the brand was releasing a new fragrance in honour of their 21st anniversary, aptly named '21' - i purchased it without even a second thought. odd, since fragrances are such a personal thing and need to be tried and sniffed a few million times over. this little risk paid out in aces because it is just so delightfully heady and milky that you'll love it straight out of the bottle. so, perhaps i'll make room for just one more signature item...
i need to start the marni brooch fund. help me help myself to the vast and colourful bounty of gorgeous marni accessories - predominantly their brooches, (and bracelets. and necklaces. and handbags. and also the clothes. okay fine. all things marni).
these look like cool little pools of water... sigh.
i'm quite pleased that the gladiator style of sandal has been allowed to stick around for the last couple of summer seasons. i admit to loving the look of them, and have been looking for cross-strap style for a while now, as i've been running the gamut of the 'thong' style for at least three summers.
i've been thinking that these gaspard yurkievich black leather sandals with gold accent heels are just the ones i've been looking for. and i've stopped being shocked at the fact that everything i adore seems to be wildly expensive - it's just my first instinct it seems.... alas.
ever since i started in on my quest to move a bit more colour into my life and wardrobe, all i see are pieces that are just so lovely for summer; they look breezy and fun, but not twee or too girly.
and i just want to say 'bring it all to me and i will gather up my courage and wear it'. because seriously, how lovely and easy is this miu miu cotton tank dress?
i've been looking at these for a few weeks now - and i suppose if i had to stare at them for that long to figure out if i actually liked them, that my answer should be pretty clear.
however, i just cannot decide whether or not these rachel comey wedges are covetable or not. the champagne ones are my preference, but are too close to the colour of my skin. since i've mentioned before that the brunt of my wardrobe is black, if i wore these, i'd look like an inverted, barefoot triangle with all my shift dresses (and hips).
however, the black ones, just don't have the same look about them, and they don't seem as chic...
what says you, dear reader(s)?
i'm not sure where the time goes, but what i do know is that i blink and more than a week has gone by without my posting one little teeny little tidbit. apologies, all around.
things on the professional side of life have taken over my thought-addled brain, and thus a wee bit bears the brunt of my feeling a bit off. alas.
however, there was a bright and shiny spot in my week, when my most adored told me to go buy myself "something pretty" and i did, because i'm obedient that way.
and what was that something pretty?
well, you knew it was going to be a bag, right?
